Cattery

The cattery name S*PAX´ (pax means peace in latin) was registered in Fife in 1991, and is today run by Jörgen Frithiof and Charlotta Handler.

We feel that we as breeders have the obligation to do what is best for our breed, nothing more, nothing less. The challenge is of course to find out exactly what it is that is “best for the breed”…. Our interpretation is that cats from us should combine great type with excellent temper. We never make a combination unless we believe in it to 100 %. Besides excellent type our main aim is to breed deeply loved family members, who can and will spread joy and happiness to their owners for many, many years to come. We follow Norsk Skogkatt United’s and Scandinavian Ragdoll Club’s health programmes.

From litter 13 we name all our kittens after Latin quotes, starting from A.

About us:

Our family consists of Jörgen, Charlotta, Pontus, 15 years old and Liv 1,5 years old. We are fanatic catlovers and live in Skurup in a large house. Many weekends we spend at shows, either showing our own cats or Jörgen judging and Charlotta working as a steward. Jörgen is an International Fife Judge in category II since 1997. Genetically a Scanian, born and raised in Östra Tommarp in the very heart of “Österlen” on the Scanian East coast. Professionally he is a Psychologist. Hobbies besides cats are running and working out. Charlotta is born in Skålan, a little village close to the Jemtlandic mountains. She is a Behaviourist with a major in sociology, working at the EU office at the Social Insurance Office. Except from a great interest in cats, she is also interested in horses. Pontus largest interest is table tennis and he is one of the best in Sweden for his age. If you don’t see him with a bat in his hand it is most likely you will find him in front of the PC. Liv likes to play, hug the cats and watch Americas funniest home videos. To us the cats and kittens are family members and they get a lot of love and attention from us. They have full access to the house and can also spend the days in our 200 square meters large catyard. When we have kittens we spend lots of time with them, since we think that a kitten’s first weeks in life are essential for its social development. Don’t hesitate to contact us or stop buy for a cup of coffee.

Here you can read an article about us from the paper Kattögat, nr 3-2005 (only in Swedish).
